Man trapped in elevator for over 40 hours

Posted in Challenge, Church, Mission, Video on April 17, 2008 by Dave Saunders

i was feeling a little trapped the other day in this churchy bubble and was thinking wouldn’t it be nice to one day go to a church meeting only to be thrown out and told to go for a walk, meet some people… engage in the world. See where God is working with the poor, hungry and the needy. See where God is at work with the kid who’s Mother has died of drug overdose.

Sometime i feel like a man trapped in a elevator desperate to get out.

Who would win the fight, Neo or Jesus?

Posted in Church, Youth, humour on April 13, 2008 by Dave Saunders

if you said that Jesus would win the fight, then why have we got images of Jesus like a weak nice man that wouldn’t hurt a fly.

In my head Jesus has always been a hard core nails bloke, i mean.. to be a carpenter he must have had some muscles, lifting trees about.

Thats Just the Jesus i know, whats your image of the main man??

WRONG E-MAIL ADDRESS

This was a funny one.  Enjoy!!

WRONG E-MAIL ADDRESS

This one is priceless…
A lesson to be learned from typing the wrong email < BR>address!!!!

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw
out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the
same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier.
Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to
coordinate their travel schedules.
So, the husband left Minnesota and
flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following
day.
The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer
in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he
accidentally left out one l etter in her email address, and without
realizing his error, sent the email.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston , a widow had just
returned home from her husband’s funeral. He was a minister who was called
home to glory following a heart attack.
The widow decided to check her email expecting messages
from relatives and friends. After reading t he first message, she
screamed and fainted. The widow’s son rushed into the room, found his
mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I’ve Arrived
Date: October 16, 2005
I know you’re surprised to hear from me. They have
computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones.
I’ve just arrived and have been checked in. I’ve seen that
everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing you then!!!!
Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.

P.S. Sure is freaking hot down here!!!!

Seeing What God see’s

Posted in Challenge, Mission, thought on April 7, 2008 by Dave Saunders

i was listening to this cd of Mike frost talking about seeing people as ‘people’ not objects. I know i have heard this type of talk a million times, but boy was i convicted. Just simple everyday life i use people as objects. I went to play squash with my future wife and talked to the guy in charge about weather we could use his rackets and where the courts were in the building. He kindly showed us the courts and lent us rackets, we had a great game and at the end gave the rackets back and payed for the hire and we were on our way home when i realized i didn’t even bother to ask the guys name! I wonder how many people i ‘use’ everyday. Cashers, office staff and even my own team.

i wonder what the guys name was in this photo?

Iron Man

Posted in Challenge, Worship Trick, thought on March 4, 2008 by Dave Saunders

Eighly sent me a email with this video on it, so i watched it and was crying my eyes (in a manly way) out for the whole thing.

BACKGROUND: this son had been very ill with cerebral palsy since he was born and one day he asked his father if he could do a fun run. so his father went head and did the fun run - they came 2nd last. after they finished he asked if they could enter a marathon, so out of the father’s love for his son they did it together. then after the marathon he asked the father if they could do and iron man race, so again out of the father’s love he trained up and did the race (2 miles swim, 100 miles cycle, 26 miles run) then this is the video of the race.

Bridgekeeper - Romans 5:8

This video is about how a father sacrfices his son to save the passengers on a train. The son symbolizes Jesus, and the passengers symbolize us(people).
